Day Two: Soul Searching

Sitting down with [writing coach] Hal and hearing what he has to say about my rough draft was very helpful.

Should I worry or will I be fine?

After sitting through a presentation from financial aid yesterday, I felt the need to step up my college game -- especially since this upcoming school year, I will finally be a senior. Kelly’s financial aid presentation made it clear to me the things that I should be doing over the summer before school starts in the fall. Besides from the presentation I’ve gone on a mini tour of UST, met my writing mentor for the first time and most importantly wrote and wrote.

This wasn’t my first time getting a tour of the University of St. Thomas, but the mini tour has helped out a lot with navigating around campus for the next the week.

I got to meet my writing mentor for the first time yesterday, which was very exciting. Sitting down with Hal and hearing what he has to say about my rough draft was very helpful. I’ve learned to be open and extend my story to fully make my message come through. Other than that, I spent the majority of the time writing and revising my essay.

Being here at ThreeSixty for only two days so far was harder than I thought. I had to change my sleeping schedule, speed up my writing process and dig really deep into my soul to find a story that I want to tell.
