Day Seven: Powerful and Amazing

I have come to really appreciate ThreeSixty and all the benefits I have and will gain.

Before arriving to camp last week, I expected to be bored out of my mind. I dreaded the thought of commuting back and forth to camp, and even contemplated on quitting before trying it out. But as camp progressed throughout the week, I realized that I was totally wrong. I interacted with new people and met very awesome mentors (Miles, Bao and Chad) who challenged me to become a better writer. I learned many new things, such as how to condense three paragraphs into one to eliminating unnecessary adverbs. And I even learned how to remove my outer shell and get out of my comfort zone.

One of the most memorable parts about camp was listening to my peers’ POWERFUL essays and seeing how they dealt with personal issues. It was very rewarding to learn about their experiences, and to see them in such a vulnerable state even though we had only known one another for about a week was very worthwhile. As the second day of journalism comes to an end, I have come to really appreciate ThreeSixty and all the benefits I have and will gain. I am very thankful to be a part of this amazing program and I am super glad to have taken the initiative to commit to ThreeSixty!
